Who We Are

Mayooba Eco Foundation is a youth-led, non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering communities to thrive through the pillars of sustainable tourism, environmental conservation, and inclusive support for persons with disabilities. Founded by passionate young change makers, we believe in the transformative power of community-led initiatives to build resilient and sustainable futures.

With roots deeply grounded in Uganda’s rich natural and cultural heritage, we aim to create long-lasting impact by blending ecological preservation with livelihood enhancement, ensuring that both people and nature flourish in harmony.

Currently, Mayooba Eco Foundation operates in various regions across Uganda, with pilot projects in the Albertine, Kigezi highlands, Teso, Karamoja, and Central Uganda. We aim to scale up our impact across East Africa through partnerships and regional collaborations.

The Heart of Our Mission

Vision

A sustainable and inclusive future where communities are empowered, natural resources are conserved, and everyone – regardless of ability – has a role in protecting our environment and benefiting from it.

Mission

To build resilient communities by promoting sustainable tourism, conserving the environment, and advancing inclusive opportunities for people with disabilities through grassroots action, education, and innovation.

Core Values

  • Inclusivity: We believe every voice matters. Our projects actively involve persons with disabilities and marginalized groups.

  • Sustainability: All our actions are designed with long-term environmental, economic, and social sustainability in mind.

  • Community Empowerment: We work with – not for – communities, co-creating solutions tailored to local needs.

  • Youth Leadership: We believe in the power of young people to lead transformational change.

  • Partnership: Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We partner with local leaders, academic institutions, NGOs, government bodies, and the private sector.
